Abrivado


Arrival in Occitan language - men on horses bring the bulls from pastures to the arena located in the village.

Crochet - The Hook


Little steel comb allowing the raseteurs to rip off the diverse attributes in order to mark points. They collect their gains at the end of the race.

Manade


breeding of bulls and/or horse, managed by the bulls' herdman : the manadier. Every manade has a devise of its' own, these traditions perpetuate from one generation to another

The villages' big popular votive fair, centered on bull games : abrivados, camarguese race,encierro, bandidos...

Free mares and yearlings run in the streets of the village.

Attributs


Constituated of pieces and strings of wool, they are tied around the bottom of the horns and on the bulls' forehead. These "items" have different prices. From smallest to highest during the 15 minutes of the race. Here are the different attributes :

- the manades' devise between the horns

- tassels : attached by a rubber-band across the horns

- strings : wrapped around each horn

Raset


During the camarguese race, the raseteurs removes, with his hook, the devise attached between the bulls' horns, making circular movements while facing the animal. This specific movement, awaited by the audience is called the raset.

Gardian


Passionate horseman, he takes part in the manades' life, some get paid,others don't. The Bayle-gardian, who rules the herds life is the only one to know all the secrets.

the gardian cross shows three symbols :

- the cross for faith

- the heart for charity

- the anchor for hope
